Frequently asked questions

1. Which films can you supply?
Finished film in BOPP, PE, PP, PET and PVC, in the structures and thicknesses quoted per order. Film selection follows the three jobs of a laminate: mechanical protection, barrier and sealability — the cheapest film that does all three is the right one.

2. What is the difference between BOPP, PET and PE in a laminate?
BOPP gives stiffness, gloss and printability at low cost. PET gives higher temperature resistance and mechanical strength. PE is the sealing layer and the moisture barrier. Most structures combine them rather than choosing one.

3. Do you supply PLA and CPLA pellets?
Yes — PLA and CPLA granules for film extrusion and moulding. PLA is transparent and suited to cold service; CPLA is crystallised and withstands higher service temperature. Both are compostable under industrial conditions defined by the applicable standard, not in a home compost bin.

4. What do I need to specify when ordering film?
Structure and layer order, thickness with tolerance, width and core diameter, treatment level for printing, slip level for machine running, and the food-contact requirement. Omitting any of these usually produces a film that runs badly on one machine and well on another.

5. How does film relate to the machine I buy?
Directly. Slip level affects both machinability and seal strength; treatment level decays with storage and affects adhesion; thickness tolerance affects tension control. Film and machine specification should be decided together, not sequentially.

6. Can you supply food-contact compliant material?
Material can be supplied against the food-contact framework applicable to your market — EU 10/2011, US 21 CFR, or the Brazilian ANVISA requirements — with the corresponding declaration. The requirement must be stated at enquiry, because the formulation and the documentation differ by market.

7. What about recycled or mono-material structures?
Mono-material PE and PP structures are available and are the practical route to recyclability. Design rules matter more than the material name: layer compatibility, adhesive choice, ink and NIR-detectable pigments decide whether the structure is actually recyclable.

8. How is material supplied and shipped?
Rolls or pellets on export packing, with the documentary package agreed at order (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and conformity documentation where applicable). Storage conditions matter: film absorbs moisture and treatment decays, so warehouse conditions affect performance.
