A slitting and rewinding machine takes a wide master roll of film, foil or laminate and slits it into narrower rolls at controlled tension, then rewinds each slit strip into a finished roll. It is the last step before the material reaches the customer, so slit quality and roll build determine whether the roll runs cleanly on the customer machine.

A1: It depends on material. Shear slitting gives the cleanest edge on film and laminates. Razor suits thin films and some papers. Score is used where the material fractures predictably. Tell us your material and we will specify.

Q2: How do I avoid telescoping rolls?

A2: Telescoping comes from tension and roll build problems, usually insufficient or poorly tapered rewind tension. Closed-loop tension with taper control is the standard fix, and we set it up for your material during commissioning.

Q3: What slit width tolerance can you hold?

A3: Tolerance depends on the slitting method and material stability. Send your target tolerance and material and we will confirm what is achievable.
